This vyshyvana podushka (embroidered pillow case) is about 50 years old.  This pillow case is embroidered on very fine polotno (cloth) - about 38 threads per inch!  The size is about 11 3/4 inches high by 15 1/2 inches wide.  I like it because the design is so different - it is an embroidered "chevron". The fringes also add to the beauty.  The design and the colors are just wonderful.  As you can see in some of the images, this embroidery has not fared well with time.  In some places, the cloth has worn through and has been repaired and the stitches have worn out.  But, it is rather unique...
